WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "MajOr
Drainageway Planning, Volume 1 & 2, S,J.C.D. (North) - Basin 6100,
North Tributary to S.J.C,D, (South) - Basin 6200, Direct Flow Basin
6100.5, Downstream Reach (Kiewit Area) of Main Branch S,J,C.D, (South) -
Basin 6200," dated July, 1976, has been prepared by CH2M Hill, Inc. at
the request of the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District, Jefferson
County and Arapahoe County; and

WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the'floodplain
data and information for the storm_ and _floodwater runoffchanne-ls- -or
. basins of-the study area; and

WHEREAS, the Urban Drainage and Flood Co~trol District has
requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and
approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes 1973,
requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in the pre-
) vention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and

WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised
Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local juris-
dictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along any
storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation and
approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and

WHEREAS Section 37-60-l06(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes
1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and
approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make such
designations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdictions;
and

WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and
does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board.that the
Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those areas inundated
by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) as described by the

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water Conser-
vation Board in regular meeting assembled in Denver, Colorado, this
17th day of November, 1976 that it does hereby designate and approve
as floodplain areas those areas described as being inundated by a 100-
year flood as set forth in said report; and
