<br />ANNUAL REPORT <br />TRIBUTARY RESERVOIR REGULATION ACTIVITIES <br />(AUGUST 1997 - JULY 1998) <br />NORTHWEST DIVISION <br />MISSOURI RIVER REGION <br />OMAHA DISTRICT <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />I. PURPOSE AND SCOPE. This annual report summarizes significant tributary <br />reservoir regulation activities and tributary flooding within the geographic <br />; boundaries of the Omaha District. The period covered by this report is 1 August <br />1 997 through 31 July 1 998 and is referred to as the report period. <br /> <br />II. REFERENCES. <br /> <br />a. The Omaha District, Corps of <br />Engineers, civil works boundaries include 414,900 square miles that comprise the <br />Missouri River watershed upstream of Rulo, Nebraska. See basin map (Plate 1). <br /> <br />a. Reservoirs with Flood Control Storage. There are 36 tributary reservoirs <br />with allocated flood control storage covered in this report, including 25 Corps of <br />Engineers dams and 11 Bureau of Reclamation dams. The Corps of Engineers and <br />Bureau of Reclamation dams are listed on Tables 1 and 2 respectively. The <br />locations of the tributary reservoirs are shown on Plate 1 and pertinent data are <br />presented on Plates 2-9. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />b. Reservoirs without Flood Control Storage. Two Corps of Engineers <br />tributary reservoirs without allocated flood control storage are included in this <br />report. Both are subimpoundments of the Missouri River Main Stem Projects and <br />were formed by the construction of relocations for transportation facilities and <br />utilities. Lake Audubon, a subimpoundment of Lake Sakakawea, is located just <br />northeast of Riverdale, North Dakota. Lake Pocasse, a subimpoundment of Lake <br />Oahe, is located near Pollock, South Dakota. Both lakes are used for fish and <br />wildlife and recreational purposes. The two reservoirs are listed on Table 1. Their <br />locations are shown on Plate 1 and pertinent data are presented on Plates 6 and 7. <br /> <br />l <br /> <br />1 <br />
