No. 106 <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />May 12, 1978 <br />R E ~ 0 L.Q T ~ 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a report ent:ltled "Flood Insurance S,tudy,Mesa <br />County, Colorado," whichincludElS floodplain information and data <br />for West Creek at Gateway, Colorado, dated January, 1978, has been <br />prepared by the united states Army Corps of Engineers, Sacramento <br />District, under contract with the Federal Insurance Administration; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report Qescribes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of the study area; anQ . <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mesa county nas requested the colorado Water <br />conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain areas <br />as set forth in the aforesaid r~port; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, requires the Colorado wat~r Conservation Board to assist in <br />the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-~3-20l and 30-28-111, colorado <br />Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zonins regulations for land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater rUnoff channel or .basin only after <br />designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, section 37-60-106(1) (c), . Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, directs the Colorado Water conservation Board to <br />designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff cnannels ~rbasins <br />and to make such designations available to legislative bodies of <br />local jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />\ <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the BOard has reviewed said report <br />aud. does hereby recorr~end to tha Colorado' Water conservation Board <br />.that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those areas <br />inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flo~d) as <br />described by the floodwater s~rface elevations and profiles in said <br />report; <br /> <br />NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water <br />conservation Board in regular meeting assembled in Montrose, Colo- <br />'rado, this 12th day of May, 1978, thaI: it does hereby designate <br />and approve as floodpiain areas those areas described as being <br />inundated by a 100-year flood as set forth in said report; and <br /> <br />) <br />
