I
I
I

Page Two
Battlement Hesa Development Storm Drainage and Flood Plain Study

following general criteria:

I
I
I

1. Primary consideration has been given to the
lOa-year storm event when designing all major
drainageway locations as a part of the P.U.D.
development.

2. The objective of the drainage study is
to delinea~e drainage courses which must be
recognized in future detailed development plans.

I
I
I
I

3. Detailed preliminary design for drainage
facilities within each individual plat will be
developed at the time of platting. These plans
must be compatible with the Master Drainage Plan
developed as a part of the P.U.D. submittal.
The local or minor drainage systems will be designed
to accommodate the minor storm occurrence with a
return frequency of once in two years to once in
five years. Full recognition of the effect of
the laO-year storm will be given in all plan
deve lopmen 1:.

I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

4. The en1:ire development shall be laid out in
such a manner that there is no flood damage to
dwelling units or business structures for the
lOa-year st:orm occurrence.

5. Runoff will be held to historic levels, in
compliance with state statutes, prior to its
discharge onto parcels of land not owned by
Battlement Hesa, Inc. This will be accomplished
by the uti1ization of storm water detention ponds
at selected locations.

Runoff from off-site areas will be calculated at
historic levels. To ensure the integrity of the
drainage facilities being built as a part of the
Battlement Mesa development, it will be necessary
to require the same restrictions of holding
runoff to historic limits on those areas of land
situated above the Battlement Mesa project as
they develop.

6. The entire P.U.D. plan and subsequent
platting will be designed to minimize the cost

I
