AGREEMENT

THIS AGREEMENT is entered into effective June 4, 1987
1987, between the JEFFERSON COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. R-l
("School District"), 1829 Denver West Drive, Golden,
Colorado 80401 and THE CITY OF EDGEWATER ("Edgewater"),
5845 West 25th Avenue, Edgewater, Colorado 80214, regarding
the Sloan Lake Drainage Basin and the Schedule II
Improvement Project (the 'Project").

Recitals

A. Jefferson Senior High School, located at
20th Avenue and pierce Street, is currentlv in the Sloan
Lake drainage basin, and experiences historic flows or flood
waters as set forth in' the Master Drainageway Report pre-
pared by URS Company.

B. The City of Edgewater is improving the Sloan Lake
Drainage Basin to helD reduce, but not completely eliminate,
the occasional flooding of schools, homes, and businesses
~ocated in the basin.

c. Based upon the School Dist=ict's inte~est in
cooperating to help resolve this inter-jurisdictional con-
cern, a ~econdary detention pond and storm sewer was
designed to help control floodwaters currently flowing
across the Jefferson Senior High School site, as well as
such flows of water on and surrounding the Lumberg
Elementary School si te at 22nd Avenue and Pierce.

D. At the School District's request and as part of
this ProJect, an underground pipe will be extended and con-
nected to the existing detention pond at Lurnberg Elementary
School.

E. The School DiStrict has participated in the
meetings concerning and the review of the improvements to be
constructed by Edgewater.
