Walker <br />Deputy Director <br /> <br />Dear <br /> <br />The Colorado Water Conservation Board at its regUlar <br />meeting on September 4, 1986, a~proved the enclosed resolution <br />designaLing floodplain areas SUbject to a 100-year flood or one <br />percent chance flood (intermedi~te regional flood) in your <br />jurisdiction. The floodplain i~ described in Section <br />24-65.1-103(7), Colorado Reviseli Statutes, as "an area adjacent <br />to a stream which area is subje~t to flooding as a result of <br />the occurrence of an intermediate regional flood." <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />The Colorado Water Conservation Board coordinates the flood <br />control and floodplain managemeht activities and programs for <br />the State and is the State Coorliinator for the National Flood <br />Insurance Program. The Board C4n assist on the implementation <br />of a floodplain management program for lessening flood losses. <br />The Board staff is knowledgeable in federal and state flood- <br />related programs. structural and nonstructural practices, and <br />flood mitigation measures.
