Bo){,178 <br />klamosa, Colorado 81101 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: State-Local Disaster Assistance <br />Asreement, DODES-DR-111 <br /> <br />Dear Commissioner Amaya: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Assistance Agreement for State <br />DODES-DR-Ill under Title 24 Article <br /> <br />This letter is the State-Local Disaster <br />Disaster Emergency Decla~ation No. <br />33.5, CRS as amended <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />On June 41 1987, the Governor determined that an imminent threat of <br />flooding exist09d along the Rio Grande River and that a state of emergency <br />existed in Alamosa County due to this flood threat. On going emergency <br />work efforts of all juriSdictions in the San Luis Valley were committed to <br />mitigating the impacts 0: this potential flood threat. Included among <br />these effo~ts was that of the Rio Grande Water Conservation District <br />directed toward providing for the diversion of additional floYls from the <br />main stream o~ the Rio Grande River. state Disaster Emergency Financial <br />Aid was requested by the District through the county to continue the <br />emergency work sta~ted since funding support was exhausted.
