<br />STEP 2 <br /> <br />REQUIREMENTS FOR A.PPROXIJ\1ATE <br />FLOODPLAINS <br /> <br />Selected FEMA Regulatory Provisions Which Apply To Unnumbered <br />A Zones Which are Approximatl~ Floodplaums. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />All new construction and substantial improvements shall be anchored <br />to prevent flotation, collapse, or lateral movement of the structure and <br />capable of resisting hydrostatic and hydrodynamic loads. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />All new construction and substantial improvements shall be constructed <br />with materials and utility equipment rl~sistant to flood <br />damage. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />All new construction and substantial improvements shall be constructed <br />using methods and practices that minimizle fllood damage, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />All new and replacement water supply systems shall be designed to <br />minimize or eliminate infiItraltion of flood wHters into the <br />system, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />All subdivision proposals shall have adequate drailllage provided to <br />redw:e exposure to flood damage. <br /> <br />NOTE: <br /> <br />However, nothullg is presentf,d within the provISIons which <br />specifies elevation requirements for eonstruction. <br />
