<br />STEP 12 <br /> <br />DELINEATE APPROXIMATE FLOOD BOUNDARIES <br /> <br />The :flood map is just a plan view reprf~sentll,tiOJIl of the <br />information already contained in the cl"oss-secltion drawing with <br />the water ell:vation on it <br /> <br />Note the relationship between the end points of the cross-section <br />in cross-secltional view and in pIau vie,w <br /> <br />Measure the distance from each end point to the point where the <br />water meets the ground on that side of the croils-sectiolll <br /> <br />On the plan view measure that same distance from the end points <br />and mark the edge of the high water; that is the floodplain <br />boundary at that cross-section <br /> <br />Follow that procedure for each cross-section un the sit,e <br /> <br />Using your knowledge of the topography of the site, connect the <br />edges of the, floodplain at each cross-sl:clion; the line connecting <br />those points is the floodplain boundar')' for the site <br />
