As you may be
aware, the 1996 Colorado Joint Budget Committee requested that the Colorado Water
Conservation Board review the floodplain issues regarding the University of Colorado, Boulder
purchase of certain lands known as the "Flatirons/Gateway Property".

In the Board's October 4,1996 review letter, we made a request to FEMA quote: "that no
change be made to the flood insurance maps until after March 15, 1997". This time extension
provided the owners of the subject site to address the Flatiron Levee System Certification issue.
This issue is a major factor in the determination of the downstream 100- year floodplain.

A meeting to discuss the floodplain issues is scheduled for

Date:

February 14, 1997

Time:

I :00 p.m.

Where:

Boulder County Courthouse
1325 Pearl Street
3rd. floor Small Conference Room
Boulder, Colorado
