points. These points have been located with assistance of the Town of
Yuma management and council to provide the most useful data for future
facilities design. Hydrographs at these design points are included in the
appendix.
The analysis demonstrates that Lake Yuma, Legion Pond, and the
Pheasant Ridge Pond will all be filled almost to the point of overflow
as a result of the 100 year storm. This assumes that these ponds are
empty prior to the storms. Even with this assumption, the residences
adjacent to these facilities will experience flooding unless corrective
measures are taken.
Based on future development conditions, the 100 year discharge
across Main Street toward Lake Yuma will be 400 cfs. The discharge north
of the railroad tracks at Main Street will be 170 cfs with 240 cfs across
Detroit Street. The discharge toward Detroit Street near the Eleventh
Street alignment will be 270 cfs and will produce minor ponding behind
the road embankment. These same flows coupled with flows from the basin
between Detroit Street and the runway will discharge across the north end
of the airport runway temporarily limiting its use. These urban flows
as described will not cause severe hazard to people, but are expected to
produce minor damages to residences along the streets with heavier flows.
Extensive damage is anticipated in the downtown area due to the lack of
drainage slope which will result in, shallow flooding of the businesses.

-15-
