FLOOD PREVENTION MEASURES <br />AS SUGGESTED BY Q~STIONNAl:RE STATEl!!~ <br /> <br />A total of twenty-seven suggestions were ml~de by residents of <br /> <br />the Pieroe area as to measures for the prevention oj~ flood damages. <br /> <br />Seventeen of theSe involved the :Laramie-Poudre Canal. Nine residents <br /> <br />suggested enlarging the Laramie-?oudre Ditoh throughout its length to <br />the MoGrew Reservoir in order to carry the flood wa1;er of Spring Creek <br />oompletely away from the valley e.nd from the vicinity of Pierce. Seven <br /> <br />persons suggested using the I.arantie-Poudre Ditch vd1;h Spillways con- <br /> <br />struoted in its lower banks I>t I>l1 natural water courses in order to <br /> <br />avoid oonoentration of flood flowS. One suggested. cleaning and enlarg- <br /> <br />ing the Laramie-Poudre Ditoh as far as Lone Tree Creek. <br /> <br />..,- <br />
