Box 791 1739 Broadway Boulder, Colorado 80308 April 24, 1989 Mr. Stuart M, Takeuchi University of Colorado Office of the Vice Chancellor Campus Box 24 Boulder, CO 80309-0024 Dear Mr. Takeuchi: This is to notify you that flood control improvements recently completed along Boulder Creek, Bear Creek and Skunk Creek in the C.U, Research Park development have satisfied City of Boulder regulations for floodplain management. Additionally, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has reviewed and approved Letters of Map Revision (LOMR) for these stream reaches through the university property. These LOMRs and a print of the University of Colorado at Boulder Research Park revised floodplain delineation (prepared by Love and Associates, Inc.) is attached for your information, Construction of the Boulder Creek stream corridor tailoring and the Skunk Creek drainageway improvements, along with pod J filling, has moved the established development pods in the research park outside the 100-year floodplain. Site development of the pods may proceed under general construction practice without floodplain restrictions, providing adequate site drainage requirements for each parcel are met, The City of Boulder is interested in reviewing site drainage from each pod as development occurs to ensure compliance with local drainage standards, The drainageway improvements completed at the C.U. Research Park have greatly enhanced the site area and stream reaches, It has been a pleasure to work with the university on the development of this project, and the City of Boulder hopes to continue this cooperative effort toward completion of the research park.
