<br />LN <br />..,:.-;-- ... <br />:;-----" <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />8 <br /> <br />~>~ <br />'" J <br />t\:> <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />102 Columbine Building <br />1845 She~an Street <br />Denver, CoJ.orado 80203 <br /> <br />July 9, 1975 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the United States Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha <br />District, completed in October, 1968, the Flood Plain Information <br />Report for the Denver Metropolitan Region, Volume IV, which included <br />Big Dry Creek; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, as requested <br />by the Denver Regional Council of Governments, by resolution adopted <br />May 7,1969, approved and designated the floodplains described in <br />said Volume IV; and . <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District, City <br />of Englewood, City of Littleton, City of Greenwood Village, Arapahoe <br />County and Douglas County requested VTN Consulting Engineers, Denver, <br />Colorado, to revise the October, 1968, Flood Plain Information Report, <br />Volume IV, insofar as it pertains to Big Dry Creek, taking into account <br />the urban development within the basin which has changed the hydrologic <br />and hydraulic characteristics of the basins and their floodplains; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the consulting engineers have completed the Major <br />Drainageway Master Plan, Volumes 1 and 2 on Big Dry Creek dated June, <br />1975; and <br /> <br />. WHEREAS, the report and flood hazard area maps outline and <br />describe the revised floodplains; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-l06(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, directs the Colorado Water. Conservation Board to designate and. <br />approve storm or flood water runoff channels~and to make such desig- <br />nations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS Section 30-28-111 (counties) and Section 31-23-201 <br />(towns and cities), Colorado Revised Statutes 1973, provide that local <br />governmental jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for any <br />storm or flood water runoff channel after designation and approval of <br />such areas by the Colorado Water Conservation Board;. and <br /> <br />- - - - -.. -WHEREAS, the- Uroan -Drainage and Flood Control District has <br />requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to review and approve <br />said report and flood hazard area maps relative to Big Dry Creek; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, such revised and additional flood plain information <br />report and flood hazard area maps have'been reviewed by the staff of <br />the Board, taking into account the basin and floodplain changes and the <br />
