WHEREAS ,a report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, .Town
of Castle Rock,Colorado, ,. which includes floodplain information.
and data for East Plum Creek, Hangnlan's GUlch,. Sellers Gulch and "
unnamed tributary to Sellers Gulch, dated February,.. 1978, has been
. prepared by Howard, Needles, Tarnmen& Bergendoffunder contract
>withtheFederal Insurance Administration; and

WHEREAS, saidreportde~cribes andoutUnes~he floodplain'
. data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels
or basins of the study area; .and

WHEREAS, the Town of Castle Rock has requested the
. Colorado water Conservation Board to designate and approve the
floodplain areas as. set forth in the aforesaid report; and..

WrlEREAS, Section 37-60-106 (l), Colorado Revised . Statutes
1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in
the prevention of flo.ods and flood damages therefrom;. and

WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111,.' Colorado Revised
Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local juris-
dictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along any
storm Or floodwater runoff channel Or basin only after designation
and approval by the ColOrado Water Conservation BQard;and

WHEREAS, Section 37~60-106(l) (c), Colorado Revised Statutes
1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Boardto'designate .and
approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins .and to. make .
such designations available to legislative bodies oflQcal jurisdic-
tions; . and' . .

WHEREAS, the staff of'the Board has reviewed said report
and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board'
that the Board designate and approve as flOOdplain areas those areas
inundated by a lOO-year flood (intermediate regionalfloQd) as
described by the floodwater surface elevations and prOfiles in said
report;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water
Conservation Board in regular meeting assembled in Denver, Colorado,
this 1st day of November, 1978, that it does hereby designate and
approve as floodplain areas those areas described as being inundated
by a 100-year flood as described by the floodwater surface eleva-
tions and profiles in said report; and
