<br />Highline Canal Division; U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, Grand Junction <br />Office; and the National Weather Service. <br /> <br />On January 25, 1979, an intermediate coordination meeting was held <br />to discuss the progress of the study and the limits of work. In <br />attendance were representatives of Grand Junction, Mesa County, <br />FEMA, and the study contractor. <br /> <br />The final CCO meeting was held on June 18, 1981, and was attended <br />by representatives of FEMA, the study contractor, and the City of <br />Grand Junction. All problems raised at the meeting were resolved. <br /> <br />For the restudy, an initial ceo meeting was held in Grand Junction <br />on June 10, 1988. This meeting, attended by representatives of the <br />City of Grand Junction, FEMA, the CWCB, The Colorado Department of <br />Highways, the COE, and the study contractor, was held to discuss <br />the nature and purpose of the study and the scope and limits of <br />work. <br /> <br />The following organizations were contacted and supplied information <br />used in the preparation of this report: The City of Grand <br />Junction, the CWCB, FEMA, the COE (Sacramento District), Colorado <br />Department of Highways, the Grand Junction Dailv Sentinel, and the <br />U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, Grand Junction Office. <br /> <br />The results of the restudy were reviewed at the final CCo meeting <br />held on August 18, 1991, and attended by representatives of FEMA, <br />the CWCB, the Dailv Sentinel, the City of Grand Junction and the <br />study contractor. The flooding sources <br />identified for study by detailed methods included the Colorado <br />River, the Horizon Drive Channel, Indian Wash, and a small portion <br />of Leach Creek. Downstream of 26t Road, the Horizon Drive Channel <br />flows into Independent Ranchmens Ditch, which then empties into <br />Leach Creek. <br /> <br />The areas studied by detailed methods were selected with priority <br />given to all known flood hazards and areas of projected development <br />or proposed construction through 1995. <br /> <br />2 <br />
