I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

SECTION I
I NTRODUCTI ON

This study was undertaken for the SilverCreek Development Company to satisfy
a request from Grand County and the City of Granby to define the IOO-year
floodplain for the Fraser River and Tenmile Creek. SilverCreek personnel
provided field surveys, bridge data, and photos. New topographic mapPing)
was done by Intra Search. This new data was required to update an earlier
study done in 1973.

The purpose of this study is to determine the flood profile and floodplain
boundaries for the IOO-year runoff events on the Fraser River and Tenmile
Creek along their reaches running through the SilverCreek property. Because
neither Granby nor Grand County are part of the National Flood Insurance
program, this report is not part of a Colorado Water Conservation Board
floodplain study. Only the IOO-year profile has been prepared, and the
report itself is not as detailed as would be a CWCB study. However, during
preparation of this study CWCB criteria have been followed wherever
applicable, and personnel from the CWCB have been consulted regardin9 the
hydrology and hydraulic analysis. If at a future time the local governments
wish to do so this reportcould provide the b~js of an officiaJ flood
hazard area delineation study. Copies will be sent to the CWCB and the
Federal Emergency Management Agency for review.
