discharges on Cherry Creek and the South Platte River and would completely

eliminate spillway discharges into Toll Gate and Sand Creeks. The outflow with

this alternative would be restricted to 5000 c.f.s. from the Cherry Creek outlet

works. The PMF reservoir routing is shown on plate 29.

DESCRIPTION OF ALTERNATIVES AND CONSTRUCTION COSTS

Table 14 presents a listing of the alternatives evaluated during the study

and their estimated construction cost. Table 15 presents capacity and cost data

for the dam crest raise alone. Included in the estimated construction costs are:

(1) The costs of fee title to the land which would be acquired in order to build,

maintain, and operate the structure; (2) the costs of flowage easements

downstream of the added spillways; (3) contingencies of 20 percent for

construction and 30 percent for lands; (4) engineering and design costs of 9

percent; and (5) supervision and inspection costs of 6 percent,

Detailed cost estimates of representative alternatives are included in
Appendix B.

44
