Geological Survey quadrangle map with a <br />contour interval of 10 feet, the approximate Zone A <br />boundary crosses contour elevations on the left and right <br />bank of 422 and 430 feet, respectively, as shown in <br />Figure 9, "Contour Interpolation Method Riverine <br />Flooding Example 2." The difference between these two <br />water-surface elevations is 8 feet, which is greater than <br />one-half of the contour interval or 5 feet. Therefore, <br />this method is not acceptable for use on this portion of <br />the stream, and another method must be used to determine <br />the BFE. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />V-4 <br />
