<br />FILE NAMING CONVENTION <br /> <br />In order to provide for efficient file retrieval and indexing, a standardized <br />naming convention is required. The following convention is DOS compatible and <br />allows the ability to uniquely identify any 7.S-minute quadrangle and layer of <br />digital FIRM data. All file names should be in lower case letters. The file <br />name should be: <br /> <br />SSCCCLQQ. DLG , <br /> <br />where: <br />SS <br /> <br />CCC <br /> <br />L <br /> <br />QQ <br /> <br />DLG <br /> <br />State FIPS Code (Numeric code. See Appendix D for a complete <br />listing of FIPS codes). <br />County FIPS Code (Numeric code. See Appendix D for a complete <br />listing of FIPS codes.) <br />Single letter to indicate layer (P - Political Areas, M - Map <br />Panel Areas, H - FEMA Hydrography, and F - Flood Hazard Zones) <br />Two-letter identifier (A-Z 0-9, A-Z 0-9) for the USGS 7.5- <br />minute quadrangle <br />Standard file extension to identify file as a DLG <br /> <br />The two-letter identifier for the USGS quadrangle should be derived as follows: <br /> <br />10/93 <br /> <br />A <br /> <br />B <br /> <br />H <br /> <br />C <br /> <br />D <br /> <br />E <br /> <br />F <br /> <br />G <br /> <br />A <br /> <br />AA Ajl./ AC AD AE AFI AG AH <br />BA BB BC BD BE BF I\..BG <br /> .......
