The report was ra~uested by the Colo~ado Water COnser- <br />vation Boa~d end Is the first of three volumes presenting Info~- <br />tlon ralatlve to the South Platte Rjve~ and Its flood plain In Weld, <br />Morgan, Washington, Logen, and Sedgwick Counties, Colo~ado. The <br />pu~ose of this report Is to present Information desc~lblng the <br />South Platte Rlve~ and Its flood plain In Weld County relatIve to <br />past flooding as well as to potential future flooding. This ~eport <br />basically shows the ~eletlonshlp of the 1973 flood on the South <br />PllItte RIver In Weld County to the IOO-yell~ flood. Info~tlon on <br />the 10-, 50-, end 500-yee~ floods Is also presented. Thlschllnnellstyp1cally <br />bralded end Is situated In a broad shallOW valley ~anglng In widTh <br />fromllbout 3,000 feet to lIbout 9,000 foot lInd Is flanked by roltlng <br />plains.
