<br />) <br /> <br />FPR 209 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />January 7, 1983 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, City of <br />Lamar, Colorado," which includes floodplain information and data <br />for the Arkansas River and Willow Creek, da ted ~Iay 17, 1982, has <br />been prepared by Camp Dresser & McKee, Inc., under. contract with <br />the Federal Emergency Management Agency: and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and. information. for the storm and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of. the study area; arid <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lamar has requested the Colorado Water <br />Conservat ion Board to des ignate and approve the floodplain areas <br />as set forth in the aforesaid report, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />1973, requires <br />the. prevention <br /> <br />section 37-60-106(1), .Colorado Revised Statutes <br />the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in <br />of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater rUnoff channel or basin only after <br />designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1){c), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate <br />and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to <br />make such designations available to legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the B~ard has reviewed said report and <br />does hereby recommend to the C~lorado Water Conservation Board <br />that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those <br />areas inundated by a 1 OO-year fl~od (intermediate regional flood) <br />as described by the floodwater Surface elevations and profiles in <br />) said report, <br /> <br />128 <br />res (209) <br />
