is printed immediately after the normal printout for each cross section.
The flow distribution option is called by setting the variable ITRACE in
the tenth field of the J2 card equal to 15. In the example problem,
flow distribution is called in the natural profile (page 1 of Appendix II)
and the output is shown on page 3 of Appendix II.
The J3 Card is the first added input card (i.e., required in addition
to cards required for basic input) for application of Method 4. It is
used to specify variables to be printed in the summary printout. By
requesting a variable on the J3 card, essential data for each profile
will be stored by the program for use in encroachment options. For
Method 4, the variables CWSEL (Code No.1) and TQ (Code No. 34) are
required. They provide for storing the computed water surface elevations
and conveyances from the natural water surface profile. The user may

select the remaining variables for the J3 card. The complete list of
variables available is given in Exhibit 10 of the Users Manual, under
the J3 card write-up. Recommended variables for Encroachment Methods 3,
4, and 5 are given at the end of that list. Note that only one J3 card
can be used in a data set and it must be inserted with the first Job
cards in the run (see Appendix II input).
The second added card is the ET Card. This card sets up the
encroachment methods for Methods 1 through 4. In this example (page 1,
Appendix II), Method 4 is specified with 0.8 foot and 1.0 foot rises in
water surface elevation. The field read on the ET card is controlled
by the variable INQ on the second field of the Jl card. Variable INQ
indicates, for a given profile, which field is to be read on the X5

9
