<br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />, <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I, <br /> <br />- INTRODUCTION - <br /> <br />The purpose of this pictorial essay of the Dry Creek Study <br />reach is to document the channel characteristics, vegetation and <br />land uses in the floodplain so as to choose reasonable and accu- <br />rate roughness values (Manning's "n"). The study reach was divided <br />into 15 short reaches, each having different roughness characteris- <br />tics, and pictures were taken in each reach to adequately show <br />these roughness characteristics. A description of the study reach <br />and the selected "n" values accompanies each of the photographs. <br />Most of these pictures were taken July 17 and 18, 1979, with the <br />exception of those showing the Larimer and Weld County Canal which <br />were taken in April. <br /> <br />Reference is made to the left and right overbanks. These are <br />always defined looking downstream in this report. <br /> <br />-1- <br />
