COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD 823 State Centennial Building 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 December 4-, 1981 , RES 0 L UTI 0 N WHEREAS, A floodplain information report "Floodplain Information Report, Uncompahgre River-Ouray Creek-Ouray County, Colorado," dated April, 1978, prepared by A & S Consultants, Inc., at the request County and the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and ent itled to Dallas has been of Our ay WHEREAS, said report describes and outl ines the floodpiain data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels or basins of the study area; and ) WHEREAS, the Town of Ouray and the Board of County Commissioners of Ouray County have requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and WHEREAS, 1973, requires the prevention Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in of floods and flood damages therefrom; and WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes 1973, directs the Colorado Water ConservatIon Board to desIgnate and approve storm or floodwater, runoff channel s or basins and to make such designations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdictions; and WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservat ion Board that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those areas inundated by a 100-year flood (Intermediate regional flood) as described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in said report;
