SUMMAR~i( OF P:ERMIT

APPLICAT'ION

The Applicants propose to dredge and/or fill nine sites, as specified in Part II,

Section A, in Base II at Keystone, Summit County, Colorado. All nine permit areas are

individually owned, totalling 12.99 acres. A total of 33./17 acres of the wetlands is

owned by the applicants, or 68% of the wetlands in E,ase II. The permit areas

represent 39% of the applicant-owned wetlands, and are 26% of the total

privately-owned wetlands at Base ll.

Each site is the minimum amount of land necessary for implementation of the
Base II Master Plan as approved by Summit County in August, 1980, described in Part
I, Section B. As a part of the Master Plan, a Wetland Corridor was identified as future
public open space. In accordance wi th the plan, the remaining 20.48 acres of wetlands
owned by the applicants will be dedicated for public use in its natural state, This will
be done through subdivision plat procedures as required by Summit County during the
development process. This area wiLl be further protected by a perimeter wood rail
fence, marking the boundary. A 15 foot easement on dryland will be dedicated around
the perimeter to connect adjacent properties, The uphill edge of the easement will be
landscaped with native plant material to encourage use by wildlife as detailed in Part
II, Section C.

-1-
