<br />PUBLIC IN~:rERE:3.T <br /> <br />REVIEW <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />For the purpose of this application, an analysis has been conducted of the <br />potential impacts and other relevant factors used in the permit application review by <br />the Corps. The following assessment is made to clarify the appropriateness of the <br />mitigation and reclamation efforts incorporated into this application. In structuring <br />the Permit Provisions outlined in Part II of this application, it was the intent to offer <br />greater benefit to the wetland and riparian system as a result of issuing the Permit <br />than over what currently exists -- public access to the river, loca.l involvement in the <br />process, water quality and fishery improvements, wetland reclamation and <br />refurbishment -- all are intended to foster long-term benefits through issuing the <br />permit rather than letting the current situation persist. <br /> <br />INTENT STATEMENT <br /> <br />, <br />As a general statement of intent, the applicants have pursued the issuance of a <br />liOli permit, believing it to be of greater benefit both to the environment and the <br />community, over conditions which currently exist.
