Flood plsin information reporta are intended <br /> <br />to identify the hazards of flood plain encroachment, so that the community <br /> <br />and the individual may avoid the annual toll inflicted by floods. <br /> <br />This report, ~hich summsrizes the flood potentials and flood hazard <br /> <br />aN:ssofSsnd,TollGateandtJowerCherryCreeksinthemetropol1tan <br /> <br />reaches of Denver, Colorado, is published for public information aa a <br /> <br />condensed version of the full report isaued as Volume II of a series of <br /> <br />flood plain information reports scheduled for the metropolitan region of <br /> <br />Denver, COlorado. <br /> <br />DEFINITIONS <br /> <br />~~ flood plain is the ares adjacent to the normal channel of a <br /> <br />stream ~hich ia subject to flooding Yhen streamflov exceeda the capacity <br /> <br />of the channel.
