(Acceptance ~f Flood Hazara Area Delineation Report
for Sanderson Gulch and North Sanderson GUlch)

WHEREAS, the Board has previously authorized the Executive Director to

execute an agreement with the Colorado Water Conservation Board for matching

funds for flood hazard area delineation studies (Resolution No. 36, Series of

197B); and

WHEREAS, pursuant to that agreement, the Executive Director has executed
a contract with Gingery Associates, Inc., for a Flood Hazard Area Delineation
Study of Sanderson Gulch and North Sanderson Gulch to delineate the flood plains
following construction of channel improvements; anq

WHEREAS, the Board has previously indicated its desire that the results
of such studies be provided to the local governments so as to assist local
governments in meeting the requirements of HB 1041;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE I, RESOLVED THAT:

1. The Board of Di~ectors of the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District
accept the repo~t (Flood Hazard Area Delineation, Sanderson Gulch
and North Sande~son Gulch, August, 1979) and recommend its use as a
"guide in futu~e planning relate~ to this major drainageway;
2, The Board of Directors of the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District
recommends that Denver and Lakewood adopt' the report and regulate the
100-year flood hlains defined in the report; and
3. The Board of Di~ectors of the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District
submit the report for designation and approval by,the Colorado Water
Conservation BOard as stated in Section 37-60-106(1)(C), Colorado
Revised Statutes, 1973, as flood hazard areas, those areas described
in the report as being inundated by the 100-year flood.
