the State of Wyoming. Mr. Schug participated in the development, screening and
evaluation of alternatives to provide additional water to the endangered species in the
Central Platte River. A water budget spreadsheet mod<el was utilized to determine
the net effects of each alternative on the target flows in the Platte River. Data related
to socioeconomic concerns, environmental issues, water rights and compacts,
institutional constraints and costs were also developed to assist in the alternative
evaluation.

. Catamount Ski Area Environmental Impact Statement Assessment of impacts to
water quality from the proposed development of a large ski area in Colorado. This
project involved development of a water quality monitoring network, stream
sampling, quantification of water quality impacts from the proposed development
and coordination with various state and f<~deral regulatory agencies. The project
included preparation of the Draft EIS, response to comments, the Final EIS, and a
Water Quality Technical Addendum.

. New Rambler Mine Environmental Assessment Assessment of impacts associated
with the reclamation of the New Rambler Copper Mine located in the Medicine Bow
Mountains near Laramie, Wyoming. Environmental issues included quality and
quantity of surface and ground water resources as affected by the existing mine
disturbance and the reclamation activities.

. Subleue County - Marbleton No. 2 Landfill Expansion Environmental
Assessment. Assessment of impacts upon ground artd surface water resources
associated with the expansion of a landfill located in w'~stem Wyoming.

. Big Goose Creek Drop Structure Construction Environmental Assessment Mr.
Schug prepared an Environmental Assessment reporting the environmental
consequences of construction of the drop structure located on Big Goose Creek in
Sheridan, Wyoming. The purpose of the structure was to mitigate hazards to public
safety associated with the previous structure which had claimed the lives of two
young boys who became trapped due to hydraulic conditions.

. Napa County Winery Definition Ordinance Environmental Impact Statement Mr.
Schug conducted the water quality investigations associated with the EIS addressing
the proposed expansion of the wine industry in Napa County, California. The
project required quantification of existing impacts upon both surface and ground
water resources resulting from both winery and vineyard operations. This required
evaluation of herbicide and pesticide usage, winery effluent, urban runoff and soil
erosion. Estimates were then made of water quality at the time of full Napa County
wine industry development. Mr. Schug completed the water resources sections of the
DEIS and the FEIS with responses to public comments.

Fluvial Geomorphology Investigations

.
