Most of the areas in this reach are the property of the Pinehurst
Country Club. Because there is no plan for future development within
the 100-year floodplain, no major improvement was recommended except
the installation of buried riprap at the embankments of two lakes.
Since major storms would overtop the embankments of the lakes, buried
riprap would control erosion and reinforce the embankments.

Item

Cost

I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

Commentary on Sheet 9

ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION COSTS

4 - 65-inch x 40-inch
Buried Riprap Erosion

CMP - 495 feet $ 112,900
Control 161,000
Total Construction Costs $ 273,900

Four 65-inch x 40-inch CMP for low flow would be constructed along the
north side of Quincy Avenue to convey 5-year storm runoff. Major
storms would be ponded at the backwash pond south of Quincy Avenue
until the water overtops the roadway.
