Plans for the development of this area are in the conceptual stages.
A grass-lined channel with trickle channel is proposed in this area to
convey 100-year storm runoff. The channel improvements should be the
developer's responsibility. The proposed channel would parallel the
existing sanitary sewer on the north side, and would use part of the
sewer right-of-way for part of the channel right-of-way.

Item

Cost

I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

Commentary on Sheet 5

ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION COSTS

Grass-lined channel - 2,430 feet
3 Riprap drop structures
Transitional channel with seeding - 90'
Total Construction Costs

$197,600
15,300
7,300
$220,200

A transitional channel is provided in the downstream portions of this
reach to connect the grass-lined channel to a sedimentation pond,
which will be presented on Sheet 6.

Runoff from the 100-year flood would be contained in the improved
channel. It is recommended that the site of the future development in
the vicinity of the channel be graded to an elevation at least that of
the channel bank, and that residents adjacent to the 100-year
floodplain be notified annually of the potential flood hazards.

Engineering and Contingencies (35% of Construction Costs) $ 77,100
Fiscal, Legal and Administrative (5% of Construction Costs) 11,000
Land Acquisition costs - 3.5 acres 105,000
Total Costs $413,300
Annual Maintenance Cost $ 1,200
