Commentary on Sheet 4

ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION COST

The preliminary design presented in this report starts at the eastern
boundary of the Park West 3 subdivision. Plans for development of
this area are in the conceptual stages. A grass-lined channel with
trickle channel is proposed in this area to convey 100-year storm
runoff. The proposed channel would be a continuation of the planned
channel in the Park West 3 subdivision. The channel improvements
should be the developer's responsibility. The proposed channel would
parallel the eXisting sanitary sewer on the north side, and would use
part of the sewer right-of-way for part of the channel right-of-way.
Runoff from the 100-year flood would be contained in the improved
channel. It is recommended that the site of the future development in
the vicinity of the channel be graded to an elevation at least that of
the channel bank and that residents adjacent to the 100-year
floodplain be notified annually of the potential flood hazards.

Item

Cost

Grass-lined Channel - 480 feet

$39,000

2-grouted riprap drop structures 10,000
Total Construction Costs $49,200

Engineering and Contingencies (35% of construction costs) $17,200
Fiscal, Legal and Administrative (5% of construction costs)$ 2,500
Land Acquisition Costs - 0.66 acres $19,800

Total Cost

$88,700

Annual Maintenance Cost

$ 200

I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
