7.0 OTHER STUDIES

A Flood Insurance Study had been prepared for the Town of Rangel y in
1977 (Reference 13), This study was revised in 1982 to include new
annexations (Reference 14). The hydrologic analyses in the 1977 study,
which dealt with the White River, compared well with peak flows
determined for the 1982 study and the flows determined by Claycomb
Engineers,. as outlined in Hvdroloe::ic Methods for Storm Draina2:e Master
Plan of Rangely, dated November 1982 (Reference 7).

A study of flooding for the White River, College Canyon Draw, and Coal
Mine Draw near the Town of Rangely was performed by Simons, Li &
Associates, Inc., for the Town of Rangely (Reference 1). This study
used more detailed analyses for the White River and therefore superseded
the 1982 study for the Town of Range1y.

The current revised study for the Town of Range1y was initiated because
of new corporate limit annexations. The flood hazard information for
this restudy was taken directly from the Rio Blanco County study
(Reference 15). That current study is, therefore, in agreement with the
Rio Blanco County study.

8.0 LOCATION OF DATA

Informat ion concerning the
thi s Flood Insurance Study
Natural and 7echnologica1
Box 25267, Denver, Colorado

pertinent data used
can be obtained by
Hazards Division,
80225-0267.

in the preparation of
contacting the Chief.
FEMA, Building 710,

9.0 BIBLIOGRAPHY AND REFERENCES

1.
