Monitor snowpack in mountains. starting Dcccmber l (monthly in winter, weekly <br />in spring and early summer) <br /> <br />2, Identify communities that are vulnerable to flooding (review flood maps if they <br />exist) <br /> <br />3, As melting and/or rainfall begins, monitor streamflow (use satellite stream gauges, <br />local gages, staff gages, etc.) (daily monitoring) <br /> <br />4. As melting increases, monitor temperature (look at high and low temperatures and <br />temperatures in valleys and mountains) (daily monitoring) <br /> <br />5. Compare snowpack, temperatun; and streamflow trcnds to trends from historic <br />snowmelt flood events in order to make projections <br /> <br />6. Complete emergency preparations and fight flood as it happens <br />
