URS Company completed in October 1977 a floodplain <br />information report entitled "Flood Hazard Area Delineation. <br />Sloans Lake Basin" for the urban Drainage and Flood Control <br />District. the City and County of Denver. the City of Edgewater. <br />the City of Lakewood. and the City of Wheat Ridge; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. the Colorado Water Conservation <br />requested by the Urban Draina9"e and Flood Control <br />Resolution No. 94. adopted 011 January 19. 1978. <br />designated the floodplain described in said report; <br /> <br />Board. as <br />District. by <br />approved and <br />and <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />WHEREAS. a new report entitled "Flood Insurance Study. City <br />of Edgewater. Colorado. Jeff13rson County." dated August 15. <br />1989. has been prepared. which includes engineerinq data from a <br />report entitled "Upper Sloans Lake Basin. Report On 100-Year <br />Flood Plain Revisions. As-Buil t Flood Plain Cond i tions". dated <br />December 12. 1986. which rePorts describe and outline the <br />100-year floodplains for the storm and floodwater runoff <br />channels tor the study reaches; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. the City of Edgevlater. Colorado has requested the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the <br />floodplains set torth in the atoresaid new reports; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. Section 37-60-106(l)(c). COlorado Revised <br />Statutes. requires the Color~do Water Conservation Board to <br />assist in the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. Sections 31-23-30~ and 30-28-111. Colorado Revised <br />Statutes. provide that legis lati ve bodies of loca 1 <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on <br />or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only <br />after designation and appCoval by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. Section 37-60-106(1)(c).
