<br />The Intermediate Regional Flood Was determimid from <br /> <br />statistical studies of flood data acquired at the 8th Street Bridge <br /> <br /> <br />gaging station in Pueblo over a 31-year period. Also, the highly <br /> <br /> <br />variable rainfall and runoff characteristics [If streams in the gen- <br /> <br /> <br />eral region were compared with those of Fountain Creek. The rainfall. <br /> <br /> <br />and runoff statistics for Pueblo were adjusted, when necEissary, and <br /> <br /> <br />used for the analysis of the Intermediate Regional Flood on Fountain <br /> <br />Creek. Table 5 lists the maximum known floods that have occurred on <br /> <br />watersheds comparable with the study area and ,"i thin the geographical. <br /> <br /> <br />region. There is no flood of record on Fountain Creek at Pueblo that <br /> <br /> <br />is comparable to the Intermediate Regional Flood. Peak discharges of <br /> <br /> <br />the Intermediate Regional Flood vary from 85,000 cubic feet per sec- <br /> <br /> <br />ond near the mouth to 62,000 cubic feet per second at thE' county <br /> <br /> <br />line.
