2

All data required to complete our review of this request were submitted with letters from Mr. Skifalides and
Mr. Charles A. McKnight, P,E., Project Manager, Sellards & Grigg, Inc, Because this Letter of Map
Revision (LOMR) shows the effects of a publicly sponsored flood-control project that reduces flooding to
existing development, fees were not assessed for the review,

We have completed our review of the submitted data and the flood data shown on the effective FIRM and FIS
report, We have revised the FIRM and FIS report to modify the flood discharges, elevations, floodplain and
floodway boundary delineations, and zone designations of the base flood along Goldsmith Gulch, the South
Monaco Street Parkway Overflow, and Cherry Creek, As a result of the modifications, the BFEs for
Goldsmith Gulch increased in some areas and decreased in other areas; the width of the Special Flood Hazard
Area (SFHA), the area that would be inundated by the base flood, increased in some areas and decreased in
other areas; and the width of the regulatory floodway increased in some areas and decreased in other areas.
The BFEs along South Monaco Street Parkway Overflow decreased compared to the BFEs shown on the
effective FIRM. The widths of the SFHA and regulatory floodway increased and decreased throughout the
revised reach.

The reduction in base flood discharge resulted in decreases in the BFEs along the revised reach of Cherry
Creek. The width of the SFHA along Cherry Creek from approximately 50 feet upstream to approximately
1,200 feet upstream of South Holly Street decreased, where backwater from Cherry Creek affects the area
in the vicinity of Minnesota Drive, The modifications are shown on the enclosed annotated copies of FIRM
Panels 0019 D, 0020 D, 0024 D, and 0025 D; Profile Panels lOP, llP, 53P, and 99P through 107P; and
affected portions of the Summary of Discharges Table and Floodway Data Table. Profile Panels 99P through
107P replace Profile Panels 48P through 52P. Panel 53P for Southmoor Park Tributary was revised to reflect
the revised BFEs along Goldsmith Gulch, The base flood profile along the reach of Southmoor Park Tributary
from its confluence with Goldsmith Gulch to Easunan Avenue has been deleted. The BFEs in this portion of
Southmoor Park Tributary are controlled by Goldsmith Gulch, This LOMR hereby revises the
above-referenced panels of the effective FIRM dated August 3, 1992, and the affected portions of the FIS
report dated March 4, 1996.

The modifications are effective as of the date shown on the first page of this letter. The map panels as listed
above and as modified by this letter will be used for all flood insurance policies and renewals issued for your
community ,

The following table is a partial listing of existing and modified BFEs:

Existing BFE Modified BFE
Location (feet)* (feet)*
Cherry Creek:
Approximately 50 feet upstream of South Holly Street 5,373 5,373
Approximately 1,500 feet upstream of South Holly Street 5,382 5,381
Approximately I, 900 feet upstream of South Monaco Street
Parkway 5,399 5,399
Goldsmith Gulch (downstream of Evans Avenue):
At confluence with Cherry Creek 5,395 5,394
Approximately 100 feet downstream of
Jewell Avenue 5,417 5,413
Approximately 1,000 feet upstream of
Jewell Avenue 5,423 5,422
