<br />,~\ <br />==: <br /> <br />FPR 243 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />721 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denverf Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />November 7, 1985 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Sacramento <br />District, at the request of The City of Aspen, Colorado, com- <br />pleted in June 1973 "Floodplain Information Report, Roaring Fork <br />River and Castle and Hunter Creeks, Aspen, Colorado" 1 and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, as requested <br />by The City of Aspen, by Resolution No. 26 adopted October 31, <br />1973, approved and designated the floodplains described in said <br />report 1 and <br /> <br />WHEREASf the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Sacramento <br />District, at the request of the City of Aspen, completed in June <br />1974 "Floodplain Information Report, Aspen, Colorado" 1 and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, as requested <br />by The City of Aspen by Resol ution No. 34 adopted December 4, <br />1974, approved and designated the floodplains described in said <br />report 1 and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a new report entitled" Flood Insurance Study, City <br />of Aspen, pitkin County, Colorado," dated December 4, 1985, <br />which includes floodplain information and data for the Roaring <br />Fork River, Castle Creek and Maroon Creek was prepared by the <br />Denver Engineering Corporation under contract with the Federal <br />Emergency Management AgencYl and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said new report describes and outl ines the flood- <br />plain data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff <br />channels or basins of the study areal and <br /> <br />WHEREASf the City of Aspen has requested the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain areas <br />as set forth in the aforesaid new reportl and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutesf <br />requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in the <br />prevention of floods and flood damages therefroml and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes, provide that such legislative bodies of local jurisdic- <br />tions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along <br />any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after desig- <br />nation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Boardl and <br /> <br />801 <br />res/243 <br />
