WATER <br />CONSfRVATION SOARD <br /> <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Heck: <br /> <br />On August 15, 1977 the Federal Insurance Administrator advised you <br />that regulatory flood elevations within the City of Con~erce City, <br />Colorado had been established as the result of a Flood Insurance <br />Study conducted for your community. The letter also stated that as <br />a condition of participation in the National Flood Insurance Program, <br />it is necessary for the City of Commerce City to adopt legally en- <br />forceable flood plain regulations not later than six months from the <br />date of that letter, Therefore, the City of Commerce City needs to <br />adopt flood plain management regulations which meet the minimum Federal <br />criteria established in Section 1910 of the October 26, 1976 Federal <br />Register not later than February 15, 1978. <br /> <br /> <br />The purpose of this letter is to offer the assistance of the Denver <br />Office of the Federal Insurance Administration. Mr. Douglas Gore, who <br />is a flood Plain Management Specialist, has extensive experience in <br />interpreting the Federal regulations and explaining the elements of the <br />Flood Insurance Study. He would be pleased to discuss 'the Flood Insurance <br />Program and community responsibilities at your earliest convenience.
