<br />As the above-l1lcorded rainfalls occurred outside the foothill
<br />region, in which the cloudbursts are heaviest, the intensity during
<br />such storms is probably greater. A local. observer stated that
<br />during the Arkansas River flood of June 3-5, 1921; within the area
<br />of severest cloudbursts recorded (pp. 105-106),5 inches of rain fell
<br />in 30 minutes in Boggs Flat, in or near sec. 35, T. 21 S" R; 66 W"
<br />but the method of obtaining this measurement. is not known.

<br />GBN'ERAL FEATURES.
<br />
<br />From July 22 to 26 a series of heavy rains in the BigHorn River
<br />basin caused the greatest flood on the Big Horn at Thermopolis in the
<br />last 24 years for which records are available, The following table
<br />shows sll available Weather Bureau records of rainfall in the Big
<br />Horn drainage basin during that period:
