<br />Preliminary Design <br /> <br />by trees or foliage, and at other loc~tions where elevations were <br />critical to the hydraulic C::Qrr.pututions. In general, field information <br />was consistent with the topographic mapping. <br /> <br />Preliminary designs were prepared for each of the selected <br />alternatives. These preliminary designs were prepared in sufficient <br />detail for cost estimating. A detailed cost estimate was completed <br />for an economic analysis of each alternative. <br /> <br />Benefit:Cost Analysis <br /> <br />The costs of improvement ~lternatives were compared with the <br />benefits of alleviating potential flood damages and a benefit: <br />cost ratio was determined. The benefit:cost ratio and other <br />pertinent information was used to prepare a recommendation for <br />drainageway planning for the Dry Creek basin. <br /> <br />Mapping and Surveys <br /> <br />Topographic mapping for this study was furnished by the City of Fort <br />Collins and Larimer County. 'rhe sC<lle is 1" '" 100', and the contour <br />interval is 2-feet. All mapping south of Willox Lane i~ orthophotography <br />of quarter sections. North of willox Lane, the topography is .,rovid",: <br />on line mapping (Reference 1). <br /> <br />Flood plain information prepared for this report is presented on this <br />topographic mapping at a scale Of 1" = 100', tind copies of thes,:, <br />flood plain maps <lre nvailnble from the City of Fort Collins or from <br />Larimer County.
