Hydrographs are presented for both Sanderson Gulch and Weir Gulch at Sheridan Blvd. and the South Platte River, so as to provide an indication of the amount of runoff contributed by Lakewood and Denver. Hydrographs were also pro- vided at each reservoir to show the effect of the reservoir on the storm hydrograph passing through the reservoir or natural ponding area. Storm hydrographs at the other design points are provided in the job files submitted to the Drainage District. The curves are self-explanatory. They represent the storm discharge plotted at each particular design point with the stationing noted. A vertical drop in a frequency profile indicates the effect of a reservoir routing at that particular point. Sharp increases in the profile indicate the inflow of an offchannel basin. Figure III-6 entitled "Sanderson Gulch, Projected Development, Without Reservoirs. shows the magnitude of potential flood flows for the possible COndition of all reservoirs having been breached or physically eliminated. Since the six reservoirs or detention areas On Sanderson Gulch are under ownership other than the City of Lakewood, and have been installed for reasons other than flood control, the possibility of elimination certainly exists. This same chart shows an almost 50% greater magnitude of runoff at the South Platte River, for the 100 year event, for the condition without the reservoirs as compared to the condition with reservoirs in place and of adequate design.
