All SPF estiJDates required for inclusion in JNrV'ey reports <br />under instructions discussed aboV'!! should be submitted to OCE for approval <br />prior to incorporation in the eurvey reports, vith tbe tolloving exceptional <br /> <br />(1) SPF estiJn&tes tor small drainage &reaa (less than approx- <br />iJn&tely 1000 sq.miles) based on generalized rain1'&ll criteria and procedures <br />presented herein need not be submitted to OCE tor advance approval unless <br />the reporting otticer considers advance approval advisable in specific caaes. <br /> <br />(2) SPF estiJn&tes prepared tor individua.l reservoirs need <br />not be submitted to OCE for advance approval unless the estimate conatitutes <br />the primary basis tor selection of the reservoir storage and outlet capacities. <br /> <br />b. With reterence to SPF estiJn&tes related to Det1n1te Project <br />Reports and special studies, attention is invited to O&R, paragraph 4214.10 'Il, <br />in "hich sublllis8ion of' appeDdic"s or portions ot reports covering hydrologic <br />features tor Ildvanc.. approval by OCE is outUn.ed. SPF estimates required <br />under instructions preeented above should be included in such advaAce wb- <br />missions. In special cases, conferences should be arranged to permit re- <br />vie" ot SPF estimates and related hydrologic d"tenninations tb&t b&ve a lII&jor <br />bearing on the selection of design floods tor important projects. <br /> <br />c.
