SUBJECT: Request for Designation and Approval
of Floodplain Study

Dear Ms. Duncan:

In response to your letter of May 6, 1992, the city of
Glendale is hereby requesting CWCB review and designation of the
April 17, 1989 Flood Insurance Study (F.I.S.) for Arapahoe County
and Incorporated Municipalities.

Since the 100 year flood is wholly contained within the
banks of the Cherry Creek Channel, and our Planned Unit Develop-
ment (P.U.D.) zoning enables us to strictly control development
in and near the flood plain, we feel that we will not be
adversely affected even if CWCB designation and approval is not
completed for several years as you indicated might be the case
for low priority situations.

Please keep us informed regarding the status of the 1989
F.I.S. and the CWCB schedule for reviewing this study.
