PROJECT
The Granada Local Flood Project was authorized under Section 205 of the
Flood Control Act approved June 30, 1948, as amended by the Section 205 Flood
Control Act approved October 23, 1962. The project is located on Wolf Creek
in Prowers County in Southeastern Colorado. The project consists of channel
improvement on Wolf Creek (a right bank tributary of the Arkansas River) to
the confluence of the Arkansas River at river mile 1115, and a levee beginning
at a high ground point west of town and extending around the west and north
sides of town and continuing to a high ground point along Granada Ditch south-
east of the Granada sewage treatment plant.
