<br />contaminated, farm lands were <br />flooded, and several areas were <br />evacuated. <br /> <br />By June 4th, all flood warnings <br />and 'watches were withdrawn as <br />weather conditions indicated a <br />cooling trend slowing stream <br />flows. By mid-June, initial <br />damage assessments were <br />progressing and massive clean <br />up efforts were underway. <br /> <br />Both the public and private <br />sectors responded to the <br />emergency in the state. Local, <br />state, and federal government <br />entities worked closely with <br />private citizens, local <br />industries, and community <br />groups to mount an effective <br />response to each situation. <br /> <br />4 <br />
