<br />I. INTRODUCTION AND LOCATION <br /> <br />-'. <br /> <br />This report presents the results of the Phase A portion of a <br />Flood Plain Information Study in and adjacent to the Town of Yuma, <br />Colorado. The Phase A portion of the study included mapping, definition <br />of drainage basin parameters, basic hydrol09Y, and finally definition of <br />runoff hydrographs at key points within the basin. The Phase B portion <br />of the study, if authorized, would consist of hydraulic-backwater analysis <br />and flood plain delineation for the 10 year and 100 year recurrence <br />interval storms. <br />The contract between Hydro-Triad, Ltd. and the Town of Yuma for <br />the performance of the study as described in detail within the scope <br />of work was signed on July 12, 1976. <br />Yuma, Colorado is located in northeastern Colorado in Yuma County <br />approximately 37 miles west-northwest of the point where Kansas, Nebraska <br />and Colorado meet. More specifically, Yuma is located 7~ minutes north <br />of the 40th parallel and 42~ minutes west of the 102nd meridian in <br />Township 2N, R48W. Yuma lies at the headwaters of the Republican River <br />basin which flows easterly out of Colorado, <br />The Town of Yuma has a population of approximately 2500 people and <br />can be characterized as having an agriculturally-oriented economy. <br /> <br />-1- <br />
