The peak discharge used in the design, Q,oo = 600 cfs, was from the
Green Mountain FHAD Study, which was the peak discharge required in
aCGordance with Jefferson County Criteria for the design of erosion protection.

SUMMARY

I
I

A map revision of the floodplain for Bear Creek Tributary No.5 is required to reflect
the placement of storm sewer in the drainageway conveying flow from upstream
of West Yale Avenue to downstream of South Zinnia Street. The limits of this map
revision study are the corporate limits between the City of Lakewood and Jefferson
County, which coincides with the westerly property line of Bear Creek Filing NO.2-
Block 3, and downstream of South Zinnia Street where the storm sewer discharges
to the natural drainageway. Attached to this letter are ponions of the current FEMA
FIS, as-constructed drawings of the storm sewer, hydraulic calculations for the new
conditions and floodplain delineation plan and profiles. The propeny owner
requests that the County submit this letter and technical supponing data, along with
a 113tter of maintenance agreement from both Jefferson County and the City of
La~(ewood, as requested by Mr. John Liou, to FEMA for a Letter of Map Revision
of 13ear Creek Tributary No.5.

I

I
I

Please call if you have any questions or need additional information.

Sincerely,

I
I
I

-7 '-r--
it..~/~
Raym6nd Tuttle, P.E.
Sr. Project Engineer

Enclosure

RT/njt

I

I
I

I
