I would like to commend Sterling for the good job it is doing
in administering the requirements of the NFIP and the local floodplain management program.

As always, it is imporlllDt to remember that enforcement of local floodplain regulations and
issuance of floodplain development permits is a community reauirement that guarantees safer
structures and results in lower flood insurance rates for your community. The NFIP also requires
as-built certification of lowest floors relative to BFE by a registered P.E. or land surveyor orior
to issuance of a certificate of occupancy.

MDM/vt

Sincerely,

--~VvL-

Mark D.
